Kasia Trevena
Being a keen ballet and contemporary dancer growing up, I always loved that feeling of being in my body and getting in the ‘ zone.
When I was 18, I came across a book of Shiatsu translated into Polish in the University library. It fascinated me and my dream was born to find a place and teachers with whom I could study and train.
A few years later I started my Shiatsu training in the magical Swiss Alps with well-known Japanese teachers with whom I continued and completed my training in London. Over the following years, I gave shiatsu to hundreds of people, including many pregnant women. It was a very magical part of my life with some extremely powerful experiences, and I eventually ended up assisting on and teaching courses.
It was a profound experience for me when I first discovered yoga and meditation during my training in traditional Thai Yoga massage in North Thailand in 2004.
I continued my yoga journey a year later in South Kerala, India, where I completed yoga teacher training. I loved the whole experience and how it made me feel and view the world and myself in a different light.
I have been teaching yoga since 2007. My unique teaching style is an entwined tapestry inspired by Shiatsu and Thai yoga tradition and knowledge as well as my personal experience and studies with many amazing yoga teachers from a wide range of yoga schools including Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, Iyengar, Anusara and Shivananda.
Yoga is a Sanskrit word derived from the Sanskrit root ‘ yuj’ which means to connect, join, or balance.
It is a way of life that can help to overcome our limitations with regard to physical health, shape and size of body, lack of time or lack of space.
It touches everything in life and many healing methods and meditations are part and parcel of yoga.
It's like the sun itself, which brightens everything that comes in contact with it.
